the cat demands i watch her eat

insignificant and nearly useless human quoth cookie the cat telepathically
you shall now justify your existence
by hovering over me whilst i crunch the dry offering and lick the wet
neither are quite to my liking
and you would be well advised to improve on future offerings
but for some reason your hulking form helps with the taste
and calms me

she has not-quite-promised to put in a good word with the creator
if i and her other underling perform as required
telling me in no uncertain terms
the creator is feline
and hinting
that the creator may actually be she

Two days ago my Sweetheart was on the phone with her daughter. We had intended to go to the Adopt-For-Life shelter and rescue one of their Kitty-Cats; so as a friendly reminder, and not to interrupt the conversation, I quickdrew the above and held it where Denise could see it. She smiled and interrupted the conversation to tell me the shelter wasn’t open, it being MLK Day.

One day ago we left home at 2:00 PM and returned with Cookie:

Stellar poet Bill Campana made this comment when I posted Cookie on Facebook:

Cats are bloodthirsty and duplicitous. They will disembowel their played-with prey without a care, and five minutes later act the innocent in your lap, their purr-motor set to Lull. But you gotta love ’em.

My friend and fellow blogger Michel Lamontagne once praised my predacious-cat drawings, and so I hope he likes this one; it might not have happened but for his kindly comment.
