I’ve been chipping away at this work in progress a bit at a time for about three weeks now. Today I put in a good hour and a half. It would be thrilling to be done with it by a week from today, but as always with a more ambitious work, the drawing starts taking control and making demands. That is a superb problem to have!
I’ve been working on a larger-scale drawing for a couple of weeks now.
It is ambitious and sloppy at this stage. When I draw quickly it is more improv then plan, but the several acrostics do impose a sequence and a structure.
I am enjoying the different compositions that occur when I crop off details and photoedit them. They seem to evoke unsolved mysteries.
Even when the drawing is finished, the mystery of what is beyond the border will remain. That’s Life, my friends.
