dear diary, i crapped/into my gold toilet as usual. my favorite/way to start my day. then i went/on truth social and it felt/really good to tee off/on the disloyal. i’ll do more of that tomorrow.

can’t wait for day one. it will be to die for.

he warned of a snake/”I’m a snake–wha’d you expect?”/guess who is the snake?

to the victors go/the spoils. victory at all costs. hey–/remember pyrrus?

mass deportation/not only of brown people/but of sanity

i do not have the right/to remain silent in the face/of this travesty

6 jan 2021/a mob surges toward the Capitol building/where vote certifications are being kept

the mob was urged to “fight like hell”/but the  phrase “peaceably and patriotically” was also in there

violence ensues

the man who urged watches/he does not interfere/though he knows full well/that all he has to do/is get in front of a microphone and say

“Hey, stop with the violence already. What part of ‘peaceably and patriotically’ didn’t you understand?”

no, he continues to watch. continues/to watch./he gets word/that some are chanting HANG MIKE PENCE!/not much later he texts a message.

the message is not “Knock it off, you guys! You are not being peaceable!”/no, the message boils down to “Shame on Mike Pence for not doing right by me!”

and much later he delivers a message via microphone./ part of the message is “Go home.” part is “We love you.”

the concept of “the elephant in the room”/is insufficient for the events/of 6 jan 2021.

many more than one elephant is required.

Just this minute I did an Internet search on Syria. Floating to the top was the headline “In Syria, Anger and Mockery as Obama Delays Plan.” Dare Ya, Dare Ya, DOUBLE Dare Ya–which is about at the same level of maturity as Now Look What You Made Me Do.

For fifty years, intervention has been a colossal failure. Treating a symptom often does nothing for the disease–and with such as insecticides and 9/11, it exacerbates.

So here is yet another never-does-any-good-but-I-gotta Anti-War message. Standing up to be counted is important for everyone, though almost valueless as a tool for change.

Here are the words:

THE WAR OF MADNESS, AND VICE VERSA

7th Street has traffic lights some amber
There’s an antechamber bright & fissile
How the jackals howl to hear a panther hum
Eventide brings humming of a missile
Magistrates may murmur of chrysanthemum
But their yen: a limbered-up Haboob
Ebb tide brings its jetsammed torpid tube
Ridges are a favored place to clamber

The words only make sense as metaphor. They do make more sense than what is happening in battlefields past, present and future.

This is not a page decrying Protest, but a particular category of Protester. Genuine Protest–as practiced by Rosa Parks, Mahatma Gandhi, Cesar Chavez, and other fine folks who put themselves at risk for a greater good–makes the world go round. But the “protester” who wouldn’t have anything to show John Lennon when he sings “We’d all love to see the plan”–stop wasting your time and ours, is my advice.

The other side of Protest’s coin is Advocacy. It’s fine to Naysay, IF you can Yeasay as well.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I must get down from my ivory soapbox–and Actually Do Something. Thanks for listening!
