Sitting in the front room of my apartment in my raggedy underwear

With the outside light dimming and hope also dimming that the accomplishments-expectations of the day will be met

You have tomorrow

A voice of optimism and sanity speaks

And so many good things happened today

It is a cheery reminding voice/It is your truest voice

And five minutes can make an enormous difference

I open the dryer door and move the clothing to the foot of my bed in three goes in less than five minutes

And now the inertia is broken and you are free

I fold the laundry and put it away and put on some of the clothing

Find my fitness watch and strap it on

Fish out socks and pick up shoes

Look at my goofy hair in the mirror and shrug

Open the door into the non-apartment world

Springy steps

Tuneful heart

One of the great shames of my 21st Century life is that in this century I have never been less than 200 pounds. I’ve been working hard this year to make that untrue, but I am a glutton whose appetite often becomes a runaway train. This page hints at my struggle.

Here are the words to the triple acrostic:

When hunger strikes at three o’clock and cravings grow and grow
I STRIVE to minimize the want–I Strive to stem the flow–I
Strive: austerity with grace: a Winner’s tale to tell
Potential TRIUMPH wrestles with a SWEET TOOTH hard to quell
