a graduate glimpses infinities
There will be several chalk drawings on black paper, due to my recent purchase at Arizona Art Supply. Here we see a rustiness, a clumsiness, that does not interfere too badly with the muscularity of the drawing.

A very expressive artwork, Gary. It is kind of oneiric with what looks like a chess table facing the graduate and the infinities around. I wonder at the figure on one of the squares. Is this the graduate self being diminished and playing life’s game of many choices after graduation, or is it someone else, someone who is guiding him?
Thank you, Marta. Now I have to look up a word! 🙂 An answer to you fine, thoughtful comment is forthcoming.
Oneiric–what a great word! Yes, many of us dream, or daydream, on paper.
The figure on the board pattern may represent Challenge, be it a professor who pushes students to better efforts, or a chess player who is hard to beat, or a different viewpoint. I’m not 100% because drawing the figure was purely intuitive.
You are most welcome, Gary.
