false flora

It seems ironic that we would use manufacturing processes to replicate something that is richly rewarding to plant and nurture to maturity. Musing on that, “false flora” came quickly to mind. I leave it to my own AI replicant to construct and execute “false fauna.” Something tells me it will do a better job than I possibly can.

A very expressive artwork and poem, Gary. Your work is a marvelous chant to nature’s authenticity. Loved it!

There’s nothing like the Real Thing, Marta. You yourself are delightfully real. ๐Ÿ™‚

Well, thank you. I am flattered. You are very kind. My husband has written an essay which I have translated from Catalan into comprehensible English and posted on my blog. I would love you to read it and comment. ๐Ÿ™It won’t take much of your time: momentsbloc.wordpress.com

I read and enjoyed your husband’s essay. Agree on American ignorance of origins. If anything he underestimates our ignorance. More than half of us probably couldn’t tell who San Francisco was named for.

Thank you for your time reading and commenting, Gary. So glad you enjoyed Sergi’s essay. There are ignorant and educated people everywhere, not just in the US. It’s the same in my country and, particularly, in the Catalan town of Sant Boi de Llobregat (about 8 miles southwest of Barcelona), where Sergi and I live. Well, this town is our closest reality and, therefore, when we see ignorance that near, we cannot remain indifferent.

Sergi’s idea was to illuminate a particularly hidden part of California’s history. However, those Catalan speaking conquerors like Juniper Serra and Gaspar de Portolร  were as brutal with the native American tribes as all the Spanish. They all practiced human genocide. The irony is that the Catalans were massacred and defeated by the Spanish in 1714, exactly like the native Americans.
