Lady Liberty’s View from Under the Bus

The two left rear wheels are on my robe

Over my ribcage

And I can see the broadly-grinning ne’er-do-well

Directly above me

With one hand on my forehead

The other over my mouth

So I yank my head free

Casting him off and away

Lean forward

Grab the rear axle

And slash tires

With my radiant spikes.

Thank you so much! I am following the advice of the late, great Robert Heinlein: “Stand up and be counted.”
