some of my drawings have been unearthed

from my primitive single-acrostic days

and fearless experimenting with colored markers

portraits of alfred stieglitz and jennifer hudson

musings and meanderings

done in a different lifetime

..

they distract

and i must get back to what i was doing

so I will put them aside

aside from this one

tongue-sticking-out friend

who has since found her soulmate

and changed her last name to his

Tomorrow an outfit named Merry Maids will clean my apartment. I have begun de-cluttering the floors to facilitate their operations. Meanwhile I hope to pare downy possessions, and this image shows a test of my set of old Crayola markers. They are still usable, and now, having whetted my appetite with this exercise, I want to go back to using them. But I have so much decluttering to do that I must firmly stick to the mission, telling myself “No more distractions.”

The Seahawks gave astonishing defense

Sweet Brandi sang the words of K.L. Bates

Bad Bunny’s big bravura was intense

And Green Day called out idiots. Hey, mates:

Here is the true America revealed,

Diversity, inclusion, protest, strength,

And energy for mindful souls to wield

And let true Freedom ring at awesome length.

Refreshing, isn’t it? Continue, saga,

With pendulums of peace swung back this way,

A neighborhood complete with Lady Gaga

And fellowship the order of the day.

The takeaway is sweet, the songs anthemic,

A cure for our mean-spirited pandemic.

the years of dings and rough and tumble

lend some juice to moans and groans

and you fall when once you’d stumble

and then feel it in your bones

gradually you can’t avoid all

manner of those it-hurts signals

waveforms slightly sinusoidal

muscle cramps and hamstring bid pulls

choose to be sanguine and stoic

makes the aches your friends–you’ll see

from the distant Mesozoic

Cease to Ache means Cease to Be.

shame isn’t it

what some people who have more money

than they know what to do with

do with their money?

some of them are more loathsome than Sméagol

whispering we wants it and precious…

some more evil than the judge

who sentenced Sacco and Vanzetti to death

and then telegraphed a friend

DID YOU SEE WHAT I DID TO THOSE

TWO ANARCHISTS TODAY?

Say their names:

Virginia Guiffre

Jane Doe Calendar Girl

Jane Doe slapped across the face

Jane Doe forcibly entered

Jane Doe times a thousand scarred for life

learn their names:

Ghislaine Maxwell

Jeffrey Epstein

Individual #1 also known as Donald Trump

Predators #2 through #666

Enablers #1 though #52 (R)

[In]Justices #1 through #6

and now ask yourself

how do I help end this evil?

he wants another year and more before he is done

he loves a woman born in tennessee one fine fine day

he’s packing up to be with her for true love & for kicks

she has given him her heart and her grace

so quietly silly and amazing, that grace

making memories fresh that add to those that linger

the engine revs the light is green

bless the children and protect them

and curse who practices pædophilia

deliver the innocent from such a demon

banish to prison or to mausoleum

all enablers of the killers of innocence

I was on the phone with my darling Donna Sue

And I needed to get my Fitbit steps in

And we didn’t want to end the conversation

So I took Donna with me

And as we talked I took pictures

..

I walked past the dive bar I like

And the Sonic and the tire place and Tower Liquors

Going into KFC where I got two-piece takeout

And then heading for home

And only then the ending our conversation

..

She is in Toledo and I am here in Phoenix

But sometimes even so

We are in the same place

a man of few words/walked into a place of worship/and pulled four slips of paper from his pocket

on one slip was written WET/the next ASCENSION/the third STANDING/and the last MUTE

but when asked to elaborate he smiled sadly

and pointed to the small scar

over his adam’s apple

and then he silently wept/and his body attenuated/stretching till his head touched the ceiling

and when his head touched the ceiling

his bare feet became transparent

and the transparency flowed up his body

and when it reached his eyes

hewinked at the congregation

and then winked/out of existence
